Welcome to 2018!

Welcome to 2018! I trust that you had a good break and that you spent some precious time with your loved ones.

As I mentioned in our previous blog, my word for this year is Overflow and it can mean different things for different people, depending where you are in your life at this moment.

For The Parent Centre overflow means abundance, growth, joy, learning, sharing, opportunity, possibility… we can go on and on. We have a full calendar planned for the year. Our counselling in Wynberg and home visits in Mitchell’s Plain is already in full swing. The rest of our services will re-start from mid to end January.

I love the start of a new year. For me it is the opportune time to review goals in all areas of my life – spiritual; relational; career/work; health; financial and recreational – to see how far I’ve come; to reset goals not yet achieved and add some new ones. When I engage in this process I am reminded of 2 quotes: If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else” and “where there is no vision the people perish”.

I love the sense of renewed hope, strength, possibility and excitement that comes with the beginning of a new year. We will certainly be keeping you updated with what’s happening at The Parent Centre during the course of the year, through our website and social media channels. Please keep an eye on these platforms.

I hope that this year brings you much joy, progress and prosperity. We know that there will be trials as well. May you experience peace and hope even in the midst of these… always remembering “this too shall pass”. We also know that mistakes will be made as we are mere imperfect human beings. But we also know that our mistakes, if acknowledged, can be incredible opportunity for learning and growth.

May 2018 be your best year yet!
